Volvo Car Australia is employing an unusual tactic together with dating specialist Fast Impressions – speed dating in Volvos! In March, twenty of Sydney’s sexy singletons were offered the unique opportunity to participate in Australia’s first ‘test drive dating’ event.

The concept was simple: guests were chauffeur driven to a dealership (in Volvos of course!) and given eight minutes in the front seats of Volvo’s range of stylish Swedish models to meet their perfect match. After the speed dating event, participants were taken to a top bar in Sydney to continue partying at an exclusive Fast Impressions event with hundreds of other singles.

“To the best of our knowledge this is a world-first. It gives us an opportunity to create a buzz around the brand by promoting our cars in an unconventional way,” says Matt Braid, marketing director, Volvo Car Australia.

“Talking about Volvo was a good way to get the conversation going,” says Craig Spence.

Although Gina Carmody didn’t know a thing about cars before the event, she admitted that her attitude to cars had changed as a result of her unusual dating venture.

Volvo Australia and Fast Impressions will consider expanding the ‘Test Drive Dating’ events to more locations around Sydney and Melbourne in the near future.

Speed dating in Toronto If you’re single and living in Toronto, dating in Toronto can be quite the challenge. There are different ways to meet someone, but with the busy lives that everyone has it’s no doubt that people find it hard to meet that special someone.

Speed dating has been said to be a safe way of meeting with people. This is because there are a group of people who do not necessarily know each other who meet in a selected place. These people are given a time limit of which to talk to each other and after the time is over the men have to move to the next lady. If you went to a speed dating event dressed inappropriately or arrived there late people might not take you seriously. They will think you only came for the event for fun and even if you seriously wanted to meet a potential partner in future, your chances will be minimal. You should make sure you are clean and well groomed. Make sure your hair is neat and your clothes are well pressed. You do not have to look expensive. Otherwise speed dating is a wonderful way of meeting someone you would like to have a long or short term relationship with.
